Electric Vehicle Level 2 Charger Installations
Installing a Level 2 EV charger within your property gives you the ability to recharge your vehicle up to eight times faster via a dedicated circuit compared to the basic Level 1 charger that plugs into a standard 10 amp powerpoint.

EV Charger types
Level 1 Chargers:
- Plugs into a standard 10 amp household powerpoint, delivering a slow charge of up to 2.4 kW.
- Depending on your vehicle’s battery size and current charge level, a full recharge may take up to 30 hours.
- Approximately 10–15 kilometres of driving range added per hour whilst charging.
Level 2 Chargers:
- Generally wall-mounted, hardwired and fed from a dedicated electrical circuit delivering a charge of up to 7kW on single phase supply or 22kW on three phase supply.
- With a 22kW installation, a full charge can be achieved in as little as 5-6 hours.
- Approximately 40–130 kilometres of driving range added per hour whilst charging, dependant on chargers kW rating.
Level 3 Chargers:
- Found within shopping centre carparks and highway fuel stations, these chargers use direct current to rapidly deliver power to the battery, bypassing the vehicle’s onboard inverter.
- Can charge an electric vehicles battery to 80% capacity in just 15-30 minutes, ideal for long-distance travel or quick top-ups whilst shopping.
